The University of Maryland, Baltimore, New Administration Building is located amongst the rest University's Baltimore Campus. The Admin. Building will house UMB's executive administration offices. This Technical Assignment takes an in depth look at the existing construction conditions for the UMB New Administration Building. Several aspects of the construction management process were explored, including the project schedule, building systems, projects costs, project site, client information and the project delivery system. This Technical Assignment takes a more in depth look at certain aspects of the UMB New Administration Building. Some of the topics discussed in Technical Assignment #1 are expanded and analyzed deeper. These topics include a detailed project schedule, site layout planning, detailed structural systems estimate, general conditions estimate, and an overview of critical industry issues discussed at the PACE Roundtable on October 16th, 2008. This technical assignment focuses on constructability challenges and how they were dealt with, schedule acceleration scenarios, and value engineering topics.It is concluded with four technical analyses based on the challenges that occurred in the job. |
